Marina Vîrghileanu, an assistant professor at the University of Bucharest, is currently completing her secondment at YETITMOVES SRL in Pavia, Italy, as part of the EO-PERSIST project. Her work specifically centers on Task 3.1: Land Degradation.

By providing precise geolocation information, GNSS facilitates the validation of SAR-derived measurements, such as surface displacement and ground deformation—key indicators of permafrost dynamics, particularly in relation to the seasonal freeze-thaw cycle of the active layer.
